Why an e-bike?

Because Ninh Binh is at its best on the stretches that motorbikes pass too quickly — while a regular bicycle can leave your legs exhausted for the rest of the day.

Pedal assist does not pedal for you. It only takes the climbs — the ascent to Mua Cave, the dyke into a headwind — so you can keep your breathing steady enough to still hear the birds at Thung Nham. You are still riding. You just have fewer reasons to give up halfway.

The bikes are assembled by PiGo Bike in Vietnam — same group, same workshop. That means if something goes wrong on the road, the person who comes to fix it is the person who built it.

Booking and payment

How do I book?

Call our hotline 0981 124 824 (also on Zalo and WhatsApp) or email ebikepigo@gmail.com with your date and number of people. You pay a deposit of 800,000 VND to hold your place, and PiGo calls back to confirm the date, time and accommodation. The balance is paid at the station when you pick up the bikes, in cash or by bank transfer.

Is the deposit refundable?

No. The 800,000 VND deposit is non-refundable. PiGo only reserves bikes and accommodation once the deposit is received.

Do I need a deposit to rent a bike?

No. Tell us your date and number of bikes, then pay when you pick up the bikes at the station: 250,000 VND (≈ $10) per bike for a full day, or 150,000 VND per bike for a half day.

How much do children cost?

Children under 1m45 are free. The Family Package includes child seats and small helmets: younger children ride behind a parent, and kids from about 10 can usually ride all day on their own.

How do rooms work for solo travellers or odd-numbered groups?

Solo travellers can still book; the Youth and Senior Packages are priced per person. Each double room has 2 beds for 2 adults; odd-numbered groups get an extra bed at no extra charge. For an extra private room, add +1,250,000 VND per room.

Is there a transfer from Hanoi?

Yes. A private car for tour guests only, not shared, both ways, up to 4 guests including children, 1,500,000 VND per car. The Senior Package includes door-to-door pickup and drop-off.

What do the combo packages include?

1 night at a homestay with breakfast, a pedal-assist bike for each adult for both days, a helmet and the VoiceMap audio route. Lunch, dinner and entrance fees are not included; PiGo will recommend good places nearby.

Is there a guide?

The self-guided packages use the VoiceMap audio route instead of a guide: wherever you ride, the narrator tells the story. The Senior Package has a PiGo companion for the whole trip.

When is the best time to go?

Weekdays have quieter roads and more peaceful scenery, at the same price. Weekends are fine too, just busier at a few spots.

Where is the PiGo station?

In Bich Dong, Nam Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh. This is where you pick up your bikes, check in and set up the audio route.

Bikes and audio route

Do I need to install VoiceMap before the trip?

No. At the station, PiGo staff install the app and download the route to your phone in a few minutes. Just bring a fully charged phone and headphones.

Does the audio route work without signal?

Yes. Download the route once and it plays at the right spots by GPS, even in the middle of a field with no signal.

How far can the bike go? Is it tiring?

The bike assists up to 25 km/h, and goes 60 km on one charge, while PiGo's longest route is 34 km. You still pedal; the bike just handles the hills and headwinds. The Senior Package uses low-frame bikes that are easy to get on and off.

What if the bike breaks down on the way?

Call PiGo and our technical team will come to you. The bikes are assembled by PiGo Bike, part of the same group, so the person who fixes your bike is the one who built it.
